Dunedin Construction Training Group

Dunedin Construction Training Group was initially formed by the local Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) office for local companies to collectively enjoy a training advisory service in the Edinburgh and Borders area. The Group continues to be supported by the local CITB Company Development Adviser (CDA).

Since 2012 the Group have received a significant amount of financial support from CITB to enable quality training courses to be run at a low cost, in the local area. It is due to this, and the support of the members and sponsors, that the Group has grown from strength to strength to become one of the most productive Training Groups operating throughout Scotland.

It is the intention of the Group to offer courses covering all aspects of training from management and supervisory level to operative and safety training. In the past few years some of the training we have offered our members include First Aid at Work, PASMA, Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness, SMSTS, SSSTS, Manual Handling, and Scaffold Inspection.

The Group meets on a monthly basis to discuss training requirements, discuss current topics and local issues, and receive presentations on various topics relevant to the construction industry in Edinburgh and the Borders. Following each meeting we hold an informal networking session over lunch for members to chat to like-minded companies and speak to the local CDA with regard to up to date information on grants, apprenticeships and training.

Each of the members of the Group varies in size and activity. Membership is open to CITB registered companies who wish to participate in all aspects of training.
